Yesterday I had the privilege of hanging out with Face/Body Painter Mandi Ilene and comedian Carin MacWithey. Carin is about to give birth to a baby girl, and so we decided to do some maternity photos with belly paint. Since these are from yesterday I haven’t had a chance to do any pretty edits, all these are straight from the camera. But we had so much fun, I couldn’t WAIT to show you some of them!

The owls on the belly created a lot of jokes…. such as “WHO’s your daddy?” “How many licks does it take?” and “How many hooters can you fit on your belly?” Carin’s husband even joined in the fun of imitating the artwork in their pose! And we even got a little Sistine Chapel in the shoot!

Yes we did….. Pregnancy PLANKING!!!!!!!

It was very interesting how Katie came to me. She was referred to me by a coworker, and the wedding officiant, who was my first FL bride after I moved here in 2005! This is what I mean when I say word of mouth and good reviews are the BEST form advertisement!
Katie is the type of bride that every photographer wants to be hired by. No, she wasn’t having a million dollar wedding. She is the calm, relaxed, easy going bride, who stays in contact with you and doesn’t freak out when something goes wrong.
I had Katie’s wedding booked when my grandmother fell ill from several strokes. She fought for her life for over a month before we got the news that she wouldn’t make it. I had to prep Katie for the worst …. a replacement photographer in case I had to be away that weekend for the funeral (1,000 miles away in WV). Thankfully Katie was very understanding and didn’t freak out or demand anything of me. She even met with one of the photographers who would have replaced me if this were the case. Thankfully, though I was able to make it to the wedding!
Katie & Jimmy’s wedding took place at the beautiful Harmony Gardens in DeLeon Springs, FL. Located in the midst of a fern farm, Harmony Gardens has a wonderful variety of oak trees, roses, and jasmine as well as a beautiful archway, bridge, fountain, pond, and stone dance floor.
Before the wedding Katie and Jimmy’s puppies came to visit and pose for a few family portraits.
Katie’s bouquet was rather unique. Her “something old” was a historic Roman coin that her grandfather had given to her.

Before the cake was made, Katie ordered her adorable cupcake wrappers from Envy My Cupcake. The cupcake and cake maker, For Cupcake’s Sake was so inspired by the unique design on the wrappers, that they repeated the design on the cake!
