Santa Barbara Historical Museum Wedding 2012-05-18

We were honored to help Samantha and Brooks plan their lovely wedding and they were such a joy to work with. They were surrounded by so much love coming from their closest friends and family! We would like to extend a huge thank you and to the photographer: Ashleigh Taylor. She captured every detail and emotion perfectly! We would also like to share that we worked with an incredible new local company, Simply Bouquets. They are perfect for the DIY bride who would like to create her own centerpieces, and then Jennifer & Claudia create the incredible bouquets, and boutonnières! Such a genius idea and the bride was so thrilled with their work!  Pure Joy Catering did a wonderful job working with the spanish themed menu and their displays were simply perfect.  (more...)

Out and About: in Los Angeles- Room Forty at Vibiana 2012-05-09

Last week we were honored to be invited to a spectacular edible auditing luncheon with one of LA's hottest new culinary operations. The event was hosted by Room Forty, a catering company without walls... And that is exactly what they are. We were so impressed with each of 9 courses we were served. The flavors, the presentation and the service was impeccable. We look forward to finding an opportunity to work together with these culinary masterminds.The location for this event was The Vibiana, a historic Los Angeles cathedral that has been transformed into an wedding, event, and preforming arts venue. It is so rich with history and the detailing in the architecture made it incredibly unique. Our minds were overloaded with ideas for a future wedding here. Bibb lettuces, pickled market vegetables, chèvre, house candied nuts, and a blonde raisin vinaigrette.Heirloom tomatoes, house smoked burrata, balsamic caviar, with an opal basil vinaigrette.Jidori chicken confit, brussel spouts, fingerling potato, and a white bean cassoulet.Covina seabass, smoked soba noodle nest, dashi broth, and pho salad."Smokey Bobby Burns" bowmore legend whisky, carpano antica, beef jerky, benedictine.Served with Prime braised beef short ribs, parsley root puree, baby vegetable, and braising jus.

The Grand Del Mar Wedding Planners Retreat 2012-04-10

Words can not describe what a blessing it has been to attend this phenomenal wedding planners retreat that The Grand Del Mar hosts every year. This was the forth time we have had the pleasure of attending and I must say they have done it again!! Paige and Charles, you really know how to throw a great party and this past week was filled with wonderful memories. The first night speaks for itself... and if you didn't have a fun time at this event, there had to be something wrong with you. Check out how they transformed this ballroom into an fun filled carnival! Photos have been provided by the talented Mr. Boyd Harris. The following day we were all shuttled to the fabulous San Diego Zoo Safari Park. We were welcomed by this small creature, Tattoo the armadillo and then sat down together and enjoyed a wonderful lunch! We spent the day touring the exhibits and getting to know one another better. That night we sat down to a fabulous 5 course dinner at Addison, Southern California's only 5-Star & 5-Diamond Restaurant. What a incredible dining experience for all of us. Being invited to this event is something we look forward to every year, so a massive THANK YOU to Paige & Charles from The Grand Del Mar for showing each of us how fun it is to be on the other side of planning parties. We feel so blessed to be included and so honored to be a part of this inspiring group of people.  (more...)
