Barry Litchfield started photographing weddings in 1967 while he was a U.S. Navy photographer in Hawaii. He had the formal training and the experience, and being stationed in Pearl Harbor, he had the location to do many weddings for the servicemen stationed there in Hawaii, and also servicemen in Hawaii on R and R from Vietnam.
