Maggie the Celebrant
Maggie the Celebrant creates unique, personalized ceremonies, written especially for you, and performed at the location of your choice. You can have a ceremony that reflects your vision and speaks to your heart.
I'm a certified Celebrant and ordained minister - meaning that I can legally perform marriages. I was trained at the Celebrant USA Foundation in Montclair, NJ, studying the role of rituals in ceremony, and learning to create and craft unique ceremonies that include whatever is most meaningful to the couple, whether it is religious, secular, ethnic, a mixture of traditions or a brand-new idea for a memorable wedding.
My ceremonies begin with questionnaires for the bride and groom, so that I can learn about you and begin to understand what you have in mind for your ceremony. I meet with you personally if possible, or talk with you on the phone if you're planning your wedding long-distance. In fact, I've done more long-distance consultations than local ones! Exchanging ideas, pictures, links to recommendations for music, and ceremony layouts is really easy using emails and internet, and I've planned weddings without actually meeting the couple until their wedding day.Of course, I also enjoy meeting the couple beforehand if it's possible.
I provide you with information about how a ceremony can be structured, how to apply for a license, where to get help with changing your name after you're married, and conduct the rehearsal if you don't have a wedding coordinator.
