Hello There!
It’s been a while since I have updated my blog. Life has been extremely busy for me. I have been shooting numerous weddings over the past few months and many engagement shoots as well. I seriously can’t complain though. I absolutely LOVE to shoot a wedding. There is so much planning involved and I get to capture some very special and sacred moments. The day of each wedding that I photograph, I wake up and that’s the first thought in my mind is- “Today, I am going to be shooting a beautiful wedding.”
And then I start planning in my head all of the different shots I’m going to take for this couple. There is a always a ton of planning going on in my head. There have been some locations where I have photographed weddings on at least 4 different occasions at the facility. I do NOT like to photograph the bride and groom in the same spot. You want to make each bride & groom feel special- and by doing that you are creating a different background, different ambiance.
Today I am photographing a wedding for Kordae & Nick in Phoenix. This couple is absolutely adorable! Nick met Kordae at a Baseball game. He plays for the Minor Leagues. They were set up by a friend to meet and the rest is history. I photographed their engagement portraits in Scottsdale a month ago. You can see in their portraits the love they have for each other. Here are a few samples of our day.

As you can see, I like to use a different point of view in taking my portraits. When they wanted to incorporate the baseball Nick had given Kordae when they first met, I knew immediately on how I could use it. They absolutely loved that portrait and will have that as their 11×17 for their reception for friends and family members to sign today. I will post more engagement shoots and weddings in the next few weeks. Hope everyone has a fantabulous Thanksgiving this year! Be safe.

So I’ve decided to have a Boudoir Session just in time for Valentines Day! It will be on January 29, 2011 at the Legado Hotel in Gilbert. I figured what better way to give a Valentines Gift, but of thyself?
Here are the details:
It’s this simple- you 1st call me to schedule what time you want to do your shoot. (The sooner the better- you get to pick your time slot!)
*You arrive 30 minutes early to have your hair and makeup PROFESSIONALLY done.
*Don’t forget your lingerie (You can change into 2 different pieces). I will not provide any, but Denise Kuerzi from Slumber Parties will have some on hand for sale.
* I then photograph you for 30-45 minutes. You can then view your portraits immediately and order whatever you would like, or I can come to your home and show you and your honey all of the awesome portraits you took and we can order them at that time. (Approximately 3 days later)
The Session cost is $150. (promotional price for the 29th only) That is for my time, talent and your professional hair and makeup.
Prints and products start at $15.
Spend $200 in products and prints and you will get the all of the portraits I took on a CD (for Free)!!!
Bring a Friend (Make sure they have an appointment) and you will receive a $25 credit towards purchases. Bring 2 friends and get a $50 credit etc etc… see you already get a ton of free stuff, just for having friends!!
There will be many different items to purchase for you to have for yourself or to give your sweetie! (12 month calendars, Prints, Mini Accordion Books etc)
Again, Denise Kuerzi with Slumber Parties will also have lingerie for sale.
Before you leave, you will get a Romance goodie bag, compliments of Denise Kuerzi and myself. (You will LOVE IT!!)

A non-refundable $75 deposit is required to hold your appointment. I will only be taking 16 appointments for the day! So hurry.
GUYS— Send your wife or girlfriend in for a portrait session! They will absolutely love the way they look. Plus, it’s something different from the the traditional card and flowers.
REMEMBER- This is a FUN SHOOT! Some women may say Aww, I’m fat, I don’t want my portrait taken. We are women that come in ALL shapes and sizes! We are all beautiful creatures regardless if we are a size 0 or a size 26. I think you are beautiful, just as your significant other thinks you are beautiful. So why not show that beauty on paper? You will be so glad that you did. How often does this opportunity come along?
****Suggestion of things to bring- Lingerie, black or red bra and panties, black or red high heels, long strands of pearls, large man size white dress shirt and a tie****
(Fine print… These are all private sessions – please no men allowed to protect the privacy of the ladies, all ladies will need to sign a model release before your shoot begins, if you are late for your session you are subject to losing your deposit, however, I will do whatever I can to squeeze you back in if you are no later than 30 minutes late.)

Who said Change was a bad thing again? Growing up, I didn’t like change. I loved everything to be the same. When I worked a Credit Union here in AZ ( for 10 long years) I dreaded changes. Changes in Policies, changes in the branch, changes in dress code, changes in desks. You name it, I hated it. Now, since branching off into my own business, I’ve found that change is ACTUALLY a very good thing. Take for example my website. I’ve had the same blah blah boring website for over 4 years. I decided just recently, that I needed to change it up! I scoured all of the major high end websites for photographers. I didn’t care if there was a monthly fee or a flat cost, I wanted a website to be perfect for me and my business. So I changed it to Photobiz and I literally couldn’t be happier! I then wanted to change my packaging for clients when they received a CD- no more white CD sleeves for my clients- They now all receive a Recycled CD Sleeve with stitching around it and my logo emblazed on it as well as the cutest string and tag attached to it… here is a sample picture…

(I absolutely love what Kraft and Jute has to offer!!) Such originality! Visit them and see what they have to offer for your business as well!
Prior to all of this, I changed my logo. I wanted it to represent me and what I did as a photographer. I wanted a classy look and I achieved just that. I actually had designers create it for me at Design Outpost. I named my price and about 6 designers came up with different logo designs and I chose this one last year. Here is that… (I really love the diamond ring as part of the “O”.

With all of these changes, I saw a better, more efficient side to my business. It’s ok to make changes. I certainly don’t dread changes anymore. Maybe it’s because I am making my own changes? I don’t know, but I welcome it. Now, I am battling with the biggest change of all. I’m moving from Arizona to live in North Carolina. I am actually very excited on the new change in mine and my families life. However, there is always a downfall to this large of a transition. I have to start all over in my business. Does it worry me? Sure, just a little bit. Do I think I will overcome it? Absolutely! I am a very outgoing person. I love to meet new and exciting people. Now I will get to make a ton of new friends. I also happen to loveeee their Southern accents. It’s so cute listening to people with that little twang in their voice. (I secretly want to get that accent- although my husband says I won’t because I’m grown lol) So if you know of anyone in the Charlotte Area that needs a family portrait or needs to find a wedding photographer, I’m their Girl!
So, when it all boils down to making a change for yourself, it’s really Ok to do it. And if you don’t like it, go back to what you originally had. That’s perfectly ok too! The next thing I’m going to dread is the new telephone #… but that’s for another blog. lol
