Future Savannah Wedding: Amanda and Mike 2012-05-18

 Amanda Walsh and Mike LaRiviere
Date Engaged: Friday, February 3, 2012
Where did you meet? Chicago, at a Mexican restaurant where we went out to dinner with our mutual friends
How did he propose?  After weeks of sneaking around and acting strangely, I suspected something was up.  I relayed my suspicions to my best friend (and now maid of honor), and she was trying to throw me off the trail since she was secretly in cahoots with Mike.  We were on our way to Savannah for our two year anniversary and I had a feeling it might be that weekend.  We entered our hotel room and it was covered in rose petals with strawberries and champagne, and he got down on one knee and proposed!  I immediately started sobbing, and somehow choked out a yes.  He received my father's permission a week before and gave me his grandmother's diamond he had reset.  We spent the next hour calling family and friends and drinking champagne.  We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating around Savannah and Tybee Island.
When is your wedding date? Saturday February 9, 2013 or Saturday February 16, 2013
Why did you pick the area you are getting married in? We wanted a place that was significant to us, and Savannah was perfect since it was where we got engaged.  We are still looking for a venue!
Where do you reside now? Atlanta
Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in yourwedding day?  We haven't figured out a lot of the fun details yet.  But, I was a History major and I have remained a huge history nerd.  Therefore, we would like the past to be an important theme throughout our wedding.  Instead of just the usual table numbers 1-10, we are going to name the tables after specific years and have pictures of us from the corresponding year.  For example, Table 1986 will have our baby pictures, Table 1996 will have a picture of me with my failed attempt of a bob haircut with bangs, and so on...
We are so excited and honored to be able to be able to be a part of your day! It is going to be amazing!

Real Hilton Head Wedding: Sonia and Matthew Part 3-Reception 2012-05-17

How adorable are these two? There are so many fun details to mention. From the moss covered letters that adorned the doors to the reception room, the cute finger print guestbook, the windowpane with burlap pieces to let guests know where their seats where, pear place cards with beautiful calligraphy sat on DIY napkins and a pretty elaborate dessert table was the center of attention. If you look closely you can see that the toppers to each cupcake were stamped with their monogram. The guests were given burlap covered saplings to plant in honor of Sonia and Matthew. We loved seeing guests use the photo booth props--talk about some great laughs! The best part was that these two were on the dance floor all night long--not to mention the bride did a wardrobe change just for the occasion! LOVE HER tea length dress and it really showed off those amazing shoes.  I always tell my couple--if you are dancing--then your guests will follow the lead! To say that her guests had some amazing moves would be an understatement! To end the night, guests lined up with sparklers to send the happy couple on their way. All our love and best wishes to Sonia and Matthew. It was truly an honor sharing in your planning and day.

This March, Sonia and Matthew married in Hilton Head, SC in a beautiful ceremony at Port Royal amongst friends and family. The most adorable first look pictures took place in a light drizzle-- but the clouds soon cleared and made way for the sun just in time for the ceremony. The feel for the wedding that Sonia and Matthew were going for was romantic marries rustic. We were able to bring that look to life with the twig arbor by adding a few flowers, mason jars hung with twine filled with large hydrangea blooms, and by keeping the colors on the pale side of pinks, ivories and greens. LA LA LA LOVE! A few favorite details: the personalized hanger for Sonia's dress, the wine box ceremony they chose to do in replace of a unity candle, the adorable bow ties for the puppies, and the precious flower girl! Tune in tomorrow for Part 2-The Portraits! Thank you to the amazing Shannon Christopher for the images and beautiful flowers by Harvey Designs.
