So where in Austin Texas can you photograph a wedding engagement session with peacocks? Well the answer is Mayfield Park gardens and cottage. Seriously I am not kidding, they have some beautiful peacocks in the garden and I even stopped to snap a quick picture during the engagement photography session. Mayfield gardens boast an 1870’s cottage and a nice garden with towering palm trees. It is another beautiful location in Austin to take engagement pictures. Lori is my first pregnant bride. She and Justin are so excited about Cheyenne whom they are expecting in July. When we started the photography session, I was concerned about Lori. I wondered if she will be tired and told her to let me know if she needed a break. She certainly surprised me by not asking for a break but tried every single pose I conjured up. We had a very relaxing shoot and got a chance to talk about their upcoming wedding in Marble Falls Texas. The grand affair is going to be held at The Pavilion in Marble Falls which sits by a lake. I am looking forward to capturing some beautiful memories and wedding photography for them.
I told you we even got a shot of the peacocks. These birds have some lovely colors, take a trip down to Mayfield gardens to catch a glimpse.

So last week I had the pleasure of photographing Lonique and Cameron for their engagement photo session. We had a total blast although I think I had worn them out by the end of the session. Cameron was starving and so was I but we did get through all my silly poses. Lonique said she would try anything at least once and Cameron was down for the count so it made for a very exiting evening. We were all over the park and were even able to fit in a martial arts tournament as you would see in the pictures. I always look for good locations in Austin and the surrounding areas to take engagement pictures, although if you ask me I would say any location can be good for pictures. It depends on what you do with the location and how creative you can be.
Some months ago I discovered a nice park in Sun City with a beautiful sunset. Sun City is located in historic Georgetown and boasts beautiful golf courses, parks and vistas. I finally got my chance to photograph here with an incredible couple. Lonique and Cameron were great and the joy between them is truly infectious. They are getting married at Krause Springs just outside Austin and are having a themed wedding. It’s going to be a day to remember with wizards and fairies, what a treat! Remember to check out the Austin Wedding Photographer blog for some beautiful pictures of the fairytale wedding.

I love wedding photography and have a good time at almost all the weddings I cover. The wedding day for most couples is a special occasion. It is a day when everyone is happy, full of smiles and great joy fills the air. I am an observer with my camera silently capturing timeless memories for my bride a groom. Often everyone wants me to join in the festivities but as a wedding photographer I know the action moves very quickly and thus being attentive is key to delivering those moments that simply take your breath away. After all when I am photographing a wedding I am in the office. I am certainly having fun as I am very passionate about photography but I am also cognizant that I am working. My goal at every wedding is to create beautiful pictures for my bride and groom. I first told you about Toki and Shean when I shot their engagement photography in Baltimore Maryland. We met once again but this time in Chicago where they had chosen to get married. The ceremony was at the very historic Moody Church near downtown Chicago. Toki looked amazing and after the ceremony we went the gardens at Lincoln Park and created some beautiful images. Here are few from the entire day. Your Austin wedding photographer says don’t forget to leave a comment. Enjoy!

Weddings are usually very happy occasions and filled with much fun fare. As a wedding photographer I am always honored to capture beautiful images for my bride and groom and thankful I was chosen to be part of their beautiful celebration. Most often there is always a secondary story going on at a wedding. It could be future relationships being formed, family members reconciling after several years, tears of joy for so many reasons and so on. I photographed a wedding in San Marcos Texas a little while ago and was truly moved by the spirit of brotherhood amongst the groom and his men. You see they had all served in Iraq and had genuinely become brothers for life. Gideon was getting married and his band of brothers where here to support him all the way. In the short time I spent with them, I saw a commitment to friendship you rarely see. They all helped make the day very special and the unity amongst them left me with a very lasting impression. Photographing this group was truly an honor. They too had a story to tell in that one of their brothers did not make it back home. The brothers remembered him with a toast. At the time I remember feeling very emotional but stayed focused on the action as I had my wedding photographer cup on. There was no sadness however, everyone was back in a joyous mood again after the toast although we were all touched by their story. Here are a few images I captured on that day. Gideon’s wedding provided an opportunity for them to have a portrait made. The Austin wedding photographer thinks they will cherish these pictures for a long time to come.
