Remember Jenny and Mike from their Arcade Inspired Engagement Session?

Well, they continued their awesomeness by getting married at Green Pastures earlier this month.  Jenny and Mike chose to get married on a Wednesday evening.  Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, a wedding on a weeknight is still a TON of fun!

The hardest part of editing this wedding was to find photos that weren’t fabulous!  In fact, Jenny’s day of bridal portraits were so great I will do a separate blog post next week with those images!

Congratulations Jenny and Mike!  I wish you nothing but happy days for your new life together!

Tifne + Bobby | Newlywed Couple’s session | Old Settler’s Park Round Rock 2012-05-06

Things have been super busy around here!  In the past 3 weeks I have shot four weddings, 2 engagement sessions and edited thousands of photos!  The joys of being a wedding photographer in the Spring!

Tifne and Bobby were married in April in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.  I will be shooting their reception this Saturday at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown.  Tifne shared that although they have been together for over ten years they didn’t have many photos of just the two of them.  We met at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock to do a Newlywed Couple’s Session in lieu of their engagement photos.

Kelly + Josh Married | Longhorn Cavern, Burnet Texas | Off Beat Wedding Photography 2012-04-30

In January I received a call from one of the most laid back brides I’ve ever met.  Kelly said that she and Josh would be married in April inside of a cave in Longhorn Cavern State Park.  When we first met I was thinking “Wow, a wedding in a cave? Really?”  But after we talked a bit I changed my feelings to be more like “WOW! A wedding in a CAVE!!  Really!!!”

Kelly and Josh were the perfect couple to have a wedding in a cavern.  They were completely relaxed and easy going when it came to their wedding.  They didn’t have a long list of “must have” shots.  They were excited to do a first look before the wedding.  Their concern was that their photos would be lit properly and look great.  I knew that I could totally do that!

It turns out that shooting in the Cavern was one of the most challenging venues of my career.  The caves were lit with small lights, basically a household lamp every 8-10 feet.  With the power of flash, awesome gear and assistants we were able to document the moments of Kelly and Josh’s special day!

After dinner the guest were treated to a tour of the Cavern.  If you live in the Central Texas Area it’s a great day trip.

This is Diego, the local bat.  I don’t like bats.  Diego was enough to make this Austin Wedding Photographer run back home!

Congratulations Kelly and Josh!  I had a great time at your wedding.  I definitely think it will take a lot to top shooting in a CAVE!

Angie + Dave Eloped! | SXSW Elopement | Austin Wedding Photographer 2012-04-22

South by Southwest or SXSW is an annual music, film, and interactive conference and festival held in Austin.   During this festival thousands of people become Austinites for a week, filling our hotels and clubs to catch the newest in computers, movies and music.  Angie and Dave decided that their trip to Austin would be more than just a vacation.  They arranged to have a judge meet them at Mayfield Park on a Thursday afternoon for a simple ceremony.  After everything was official we drove up the road to Mt. Bonnell to capture some great photos with views of Austin.

Congratulations Angie and Dave!  I am honored that I not only got to photography your wedding, but also got to sign your wedding license as a witness!  I wish you both many years of happiness!

Shelby + Justin Engaged! | Austin Engagement Photographer | Robinwood Photography 2012-04-13

I met up with Shelby, Justin and their French Bulldog puppy, Moose underneath the 360 Bridge for their engagement session.  We set up a picnic for the love birds in the Loop 360 Park and they ended up wading in the waters of Lake Austin.  I stopped and bought a Texas Mega Millions Lotto ticket using their wedding date to use during their session.  I joked with them that if we won we’d split the money and they could get married on my new tropical island.  Shelby and Justin are such a fun, laid back couple.  Their session flew by and before we knew it we were done!  Here are a few of my favorite captures from their engagement session.
