The actual cottage is a beautiful place to get married and to hold an intimate ceremony! The inside is extremely hot and uncomfortable even with getting married at the end of October. The biggest negative about the cottage is Mark, the person in charge because he is not professional to work with. We only rented the cottage for the ceremony and did not use Mark to perform the wedding ceremony, nor did we hold our reception on the grounds. We agreed to our ceremony starting at 1:30pm and at 12:50pm Mark tried to rush us along to start because he had an appointment to show the cottage afterwards to future clients. The "bridal lounge" is really Mark's office and he walks in without knocking and is a constant presence under foot while trying to get ready in a small area. We asked Mark to leave because the Maid of Honor was trying to adjust the bust of her dress and she was very uncomfortable with a strange man in the room. Mark literally refused and stood in the doorway stating "that we could not throw him out of his office". My mom asked him three times to please leave while we are getting dressed and he still stood in the doorway staring at us. My mom finally had to shut the door in his face so that we could finish dressing. Mark was overheard by several guests stating "how awful and rude the mother of the bride is for kicking him out of his own place". We had a quick ceremony and was out of the building by 2pm, but took some pictures outside on the grounds. There was no wedding following ours and Mark told my brother for the wedding party "to get the hell out and to leave because our time was up". For some reason, Mark did not want to let anyone in to collect our alter flowers, candles, etc....It took our Officiant's wife to try and make peace in order to pick up the rest of our things while the bridal party was outside. I can only speculate why Mark treated us so unprofessionally, but despite his actions, we went on to have an amazing ceremony with our own officiant performing the ceremony.
