Ok it’s time for a little bit of blog catch up. First up is Heather & Chris. These two tied the knot at The First Baptist Church in Bentonville and the reception was held at The Cedaridge Event Center. Everything about the day was perfect and we loved the details at the reception. The sunflowers were incredible!
Here’s a few of my favorite images from the day, including quite possibly my favorite groom/groomsman shot of all time. We also had the chance to return to the same location from their engagement session and shoot some bride and groom images there.
Enjoy!

Back again with another awesome couple and a quick blog update!
This time it’s Ashton and Caleb and their gorgeous wedding and reception at the First Baptist Church and the DoubleTree Guest Suites, both in Bentonville, Arkansas. I’ve been blessed with incredible couples my entire career, and Ashton and Caleb were definitely no exception. Absolutely loved shooting with them!
Here’s a few of my favorites from the day, in no particular order.

See….I told you no particular order.

I suppose that at some point I was going to have to sit down and write this post. It’s hard to know exactly what to say, how to say it, and what’s to come of everything contained within. As you can see, the dates from the last blog post go way back into 2010, and it seems as though things have been quiet with the studio. However, the reality is things have never been busier, both in my professional and personal life.
Late in October, Angela and I separated and filed for divorce. When things like that happen, often we don’t know exactly what to do with ourselves. We’re filled with a lot of emotions and thoughts, and left to make decisions that we would prefer not to have to make. For a short period of time, I left the NWA area in hopes to start fresh in Illinois, however I continued booking events here in Arkansas despite being out of state, with the intention of traveling back and forth to shoot.
This past week, the decision was made to return to NW Arkansas as things in Illinois just weren’t clicking like I’d hoped. I came to the realization that starting fresh can happen anywhere as long as I have the support of friends and family. I have the best, most unbelievable clients in the world here. Some might say that it’s a return to business as usual. I don’t look at it that way. Business certainly is not back to what it usually was, it’s back with a new passion, enthusiasm, and a great deal of motivation to continue to make incredible images, each day growing and becoming a better photographer and hopefully a better person.
During the time of the lapse of posts on the blog, I shot some incredible events with Details Weddings & Events, traveled to Las Vegas to shoot a wedding for an amazing couple of photographers from Michigan, have been published, was a featured instructor for MPIX.com‘s Shootout in Tulsa, OK, and recently had my images featured on the world famous wedding blog, Style Me Pretty.
Life is filled with disappointment as well as joy. The joy is easy to appreciate, but out of the disappointment we must create opportunity.
Be sure to keep checking back on the blog, as I’ll be catching things up from the past few months as well as featuring current sessions and events. :)
