Clients often ask me "Does my cake necessarily NEED to have a theme?" or " Would it be possible to create something with a _________ (insert idea here) theme?"
The answer is no....and yes. Whether your event has a designated theme or is just simply elegant, your cake design can be whatever you desire.
Here are some examples from the last few weeks where clients have opted to go the themed route-

Beach theme cake with
Celebration Events at Windows on the Waterway

USC Gamecocks themed rehearsal dinner and grooms cake at Windows on the Waterway

The one and only Cocky, the USC mascot, made a special trip to attend this celebration! He loves cake!

Turtle themed cake for a sweet little boy's birthday party
And this beautiful wedding cake for Cassie and Spencer transcends any 'theme' by being simply classic and elegant while using different textures and patterns to achieve a design uniquely their own.

Stay tuned for more amazing cake photos coming this weekend!!

This past weekend was a fun one for sure! It takes a special kind of bride to get married on a date with sequential numbers.....( the type of bride who wants to make it REALLY easy to make sure her husband never forgets their anniversary)! In addition to the choice of wedding date, another thing these brides have in common is their flair in cake design. These lovely brides wanted wedding cakes that were elegant and beautiful, while having a fun side or a touch of charm.
Bridget and Paul- Shell Hall
Paul is a friend I've known since my sophomore year of high school. It was such an honor to create his wedding cake! Bridget, his lovely WIFE (official as of yesterday), has such a lovely design style. Elegant yet fun was the theme of the wedding reception and that translated into a lovely cake design! Congrats Bridget and Paul and blessings for a lifetime!

Susan and Paul - Port Royal Golf Club
Susan and Paul are a wonderful couple! Susan's wedding cake was the perfect mix of whimsy and elegance. 4 tiers and beautiful in stature, this wedding cake was wrapped in individual fondant strips with a swag-like effect and accented with pearlized sugar starfish and turquoise curly cues. A brown sugar E finished the cake at the top.

Susan also surprised Paul with a football helmet grooms cake. Paul loves the WV Mountaineers and even has a WV football helmet on his fireplace mantle. Susan, a true UGA fan at heart, just couldn't pass up the opportunity to rouse Paul a little with an ode to her GA Dawgs. This football helmet grooms cake is double sided. At first glance, it appears to be a WV helmet, but turn it around and it's UGA all the way!! So fun!

Priscilla and Scott- River House Ballroom at The Inn at Palmetto Bluff
Priscilla and Scott have such a true southern-vintage flair and it was the inspiration for every part of their wedding reception. From the brides gown to the centerpieces, this wedding was fairytale. So it's no surprise Priscilla chose a stunning 4 tier cake finished in a dark white (yes, there is a shade of 'dark' white) butter cream with an alabaster band at the base of each tier and an astounding 65 ivory sugar roses. I LOVE this cake and I hope they did, too!!

Jacquelyn and Luke- Vic's on the River- Savannah, GA
Jacque is such a unique and wonderful person! She has such a great sense of style! Her wedding cake was a beautiful 3 tier cake finished in white butter cream with a pearlized band climbing half way up each tier. White filigree piping accented the band and a small band of pearls trimmed the look at the top of the decor. A live hydrangea was used as the topper.

Jacque also happens to be my son Nathan's art teacher at the elementary school he attends. He assisted me on this delivery so that Jacque (the former Miss Biersach to him) can see that he helped!
Congrats Jacque! We wish you the very best!!

Last Sunday, I attended and participated in a bridal show which was put on by
Ashley Rhodes Events and The Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort. The show hosted about 30 area vendors and about 75 brides. There had to have been close to 200 people in overall attendance. Not too shabby for the inaugural bridal fair.
We had the pleasure of setting up a booth to showcase our cakes, sugar florals and of course, allow attendees to sample cake! It was a great day.
Also, the wonderful
Scott Hopkins Photographer was on hand to snap a few shots of our set up. That was very, very nice of them! Here are a few of the pics from the show!
