We hired Southern Entertainment for our wedding in Oct 2011. The owner of the company pressed us for the money for the wedding so we gladly paid the entire amount to him. Shortly after we found out that my company was closing down here in North Carolina and told me we had to relocate to Phoenix Arizona. We informed all of the people we had hired and we got all of our money back for all of them except........you guessed it Southern Entertainment. I completely understand that in the contract they had a clause that stated if we canceled the service they would hold $150 however considering the fact that he was the least amount of our money out and the fact that we notified him more than 6 months before and went to high school with my fiance and because we didn't have a choice but to cancel the wedding here in NC (due to the relocation in July 2011) he would understand just like all of the others (photographer, venue and caterer.) On top of the fact that he stated that he had already spent the money (before services were rendered) and we would have to wait a few weeks for the difference of the money he would be sending. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. I WOULD STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY or if you are going to do business make sure you cover yourself in case something out of your control happens and you can get all of your money back. Even the bridal store where my fiance bought her dress aloud her to return it for a full refund. The cheapest service busted the biggest balls.
