About Spirit of the Hand:

Over the past 20 years creating my designs, my focus was wholesaling my work by participating in numerous tradeshows bi-annually to show my work and generate orders. Being part of these shows I would always be intrigued by my fellow artists’ talent . I collected their pieces for my home and always had my visitors tell me they loved to see all the unique artwork I had and what I might have that was new from my recent travels.

Our vision is to offer our local area a place to find great items that support “Made in America” knowing that what they and in our gallery along will our friendly atmosphere will items that have meaning, quality and oer the value of being treasured for years to come. My first location opened in 2005, which was very small, we quickly grew out of the space.

In 2008, our move to our largest location enables us to provide a space to promote artist exhibits and we are able to help local artists get exposure I our area which we nd a great way to be active in our area and for our visitors to enjoy the work of artists they may not have been aware of before and be able to follow them as they evolve in their work. It is at this time Suzanne McClave joined me along with my husband Jack in running our gallery.

Our visitors love to hear that we only carry items handmade in the USA and Canada, with the exception of our cards which are printed in the USA. We are also becoming well known for how we package their purchase “ready to give” with attractively painted shopping bags. They have become collectible pieces of art! It’s my privilege to bring unique and special items as an alternative to the ood of mass-produced items in the marketplace. The recent events of our time leave the public thirsting for things that have meaning and that uplift them. They are intrigued hearing a bit of the story that goes along with an artist’s work . Selecting a piece lls their need to express themselves for their own use, and also to give as meaningful gifts. Becoming a nominee for Top New Retailer for Niche was such an honor, we are proud to recognized for our hard work the past months opening our new larger location.

"Creating art has always been a big part of my life. I have always loved making things with my hands, for as long as I can remember..."

Just a reminder! Friday 1/22 (tomorrow) is:

Our Final "Meet the Artist~Gallery Night"
jointly presented by the Spring Hill Art League
January 22nd!! (This was rescheduled from 1/15 when a pipe burst due to the extreme cold "wave", which has since been repaired)

    Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your support the past 15 months have been an honor to have members of the Spring Hill Art League's work exhibited in our gallery. I feel very fortunate to have developed some great friendships by offering this venue for our community.

Don't Miss "Meet the artist night" this Friday,January 22nd from 5pm to 7pm. This reception is featuring the work of Marilyn Clifford.

We'd love to have a big turnout for our last 'hurrah'. I can't imagine not having a way to just "make lemonade from lemons" as the saying sort of goes! We encourage as many as possible to come on Friday to our 'always enjoyable' evening to We will be closing some time in February & moving to a temporary home studio setup to wait and see what comes up as we regroup. The overhead in our beautiful location was just more than we could make work for our little business. We are so sorry to have to close but you never know what the future brings! We will still be around, just not as easily visited as we now are. We encourage you to spread the word to others who love our store to sign up for our mailing list so we can stay in touch as we make our changes and perhaps reopen again somewhere new when the time is again right.

We really hope you will join us,
    Nanette, Jack & Suzanne

    A special note from Nanette:

It has been a pleasure and my passion to have created what transpired in our gallery and though I am sad to leave it, I am glad I got to follow my dream and to be able to present it just as I always envisioned it should be I owe a debt of gratitude to the support of my husband Jack, My Dad, Suzanne and Gerard...and to the memory of my Mom who always was there for me through all I did with my business as I grew and evolved.

    Holiday "Wrap UP" 2009-12-20

Nanette's Spirit of the Hand Gallery "Wrap up” your Holiday shopping! Extended holiday hours starting SUNDAY Dec 20th, 12 TO 4, MON-WED 10 to 8 & CHRISTMAS EVE 9:00 TO 3 PM.

Finish your shopping with us, specials each night from 6 to 8!

Well, we had a long day today, Saturday, Dec. 19th, but it was fun to enjoy the festive feeling of our customers as they enjoyed selecting special gifts for those on their lists.  We did a lot of peronsalization of ornaments today and hardly could keep up with our handpainted gift bags to package the purchases so they were sure to impress those who will be receiving them.  We  met many new people today and enjoyed hearing how happy they were to find a place in our area to buy unique hand made items.  One comment I enjoyed hearing is that ther isn't crowds and lines to contend with when patronizing small stores like ours.  Merry Christmas to everyone and we appreciate your support and your business.  It is our pleasure.
