Even though I am “technically” on maternity leave, I am still working at home AND this past Monday I took a bit of time to take maternity photos for a beautiful, pregnant friend of mine! Jason & Miranda are expecting their first baby(a boy!) next month! We started out in their Dr. Seuss themed nursery(super cute!) and finished up by the river in Glen Rose. Here are some of my faves from their maternity session! : )
We can’t wait to meet Kanaan when he arrives! : )

2012 Seniors! Want a Free Senior photo session + the chance to earn free photos and products all year + the chance to win a free laptop? Check it out!
I am looking for a limited number of Seniors for my new Senior Rep Program. Seniors from any school may apply and be chosen, but I am specifically seeking those from Granbury, Glen Rose, Stephenville, and the surrounding areas/schools. Here is how it will work for those that are chosen to participate:
1) You will get a Free Senior photo session!
2) You will receive “Rep Cards”, which are pocket-friendly cards with your awesome photo on it, my contact info and a discount for percent off of a Senior Session for whomever you give the card to.
3) You give the cards to your Senior friends that are interested! When your friend books THEIR Senior session, you will get a point that you can spend on photo products or you can save it to add with other points that you’ll earn throughout the year! You will get one point for each referral and each point will equal a dollar amount that can be used towards photo prints, grad announcements, Senior albums, etc.. Last night, the wind was blowing, it felt amazing, I was at my grandparents’ house in the “country” and the light was amazing about an hour before the sun set! All I could think about as I walked across the backyard was how perfect it would have been for an engagement shoot in the country! Or, perhaps a sweet little girl dancing around in that golden light? I’m a sucker for a field and beautiful light! My mind went crazy with wanting to get out there and take some pictures! That is just who I am. : )
Alright, well now that you have seen my cheesy side, let me tell you about a couple of things that are going on right now here at Stephania Whitfield Photography!

Holy-summer-in-Texas, Batman! It has gotten H-O-T…and we aren’t even into July or August yet. Yikes. Although, I will say that the evenings have not been so bad – they have actually been rather enjoyable. : )
Now, that I have that out of my system…moving on to things related to this blog! I frequently get asked some of the same questions and since I have changed the structure of the portrait session fee and other things this year, I thought that right now, while people are booking for the fall, we could address some of those questions and changes so that everyone is on the same page. Enjoy! *By the way – if you have a question that is not answered on here, feel free to e-mail me, call me or even comment with your question and I will be happy to help! : )
Q: Does your session fee include the disc of photos?
A: Yes! I have just recently changed the portrait session fee to include the disc of photos! This is such a popular item and even when clients want to order professional prints, they still want to have the photos, just to have them – I understand! The disc includes the release for printing and sharing. : )
Q: Where does the session take place?
A: Anywhere! For newborns, I typically go to the clients’ home, but all other sessions can be done in a variety of locations. Depending on the type of portrait session, the number of people, your personal style, etc. we will find the perfect location to give you the best photos!
Q: How long does a typical portrait session take?
A: It depends on the number of people, type of session, changes of clothing, etc., but I tell my clients to allow approximately 2 hours. I want to make sure that you do not feel rushed and that we have the optimal amount of time to get the photos that you want.
Q: What should we wear? Can we bring multiple outfits?
A: I encourage bold or bright colors! Solids with a bit of accessory tend to work very well. Of course this also depends on the type of session, but typically we want to bring life to the photo while not distracting from who YOU are. Avoid over accessorizing, where that could pull the attention away from the focus of the photo. Try not to steer far from who you are and what you would normally be seen in when you are choosing clothes for your session. We want the photo to give a great picture of who you were at that time. I encourage multiple outfits! Especially for Senior sessions or Engagement sessions! We will definitely discuss this when you book your session. : )
Q: What products are available to order?
A: Prints of all sizes, Canvas Wraps, Photo Cards, and Photo Albums. Have a custom or specialty item you would like? Just let me know and I can make it available to you.
Q: What makes your prints different or better than the prints that I can make at the store or pharmacy?
A: A few things. First of all, every print that is printed through me will be edited to look its best before it goes to print. Secondly, I use a professional lab. It has the best equipment and is calibrated to print the photo to look just like I want it! No funny orange glow or funny colors going on there! Lastly, every photo has added protection when printed through me – they have a protective coating and a light texture. If you opt for a luxury print when you order, your print will also be mounted to prevent creasing and bending. I take the extra step to ensure that you are 100% happy with your prints and that your prints will stand the test of time.
Q: How do I book my session?
A: Simple! Call or e-mail me to get your session on the calendar. All that is required to do so is 1/2 of the session fee! I will also gather information from you to help us better plan your session. We will set it up and the remaining 1/2 of the session fee is due one week before the session.
