Happy Wedding Wednesday! I hope you are ready to tackle another project on our
DIY Wedding Wednesday!
Today we are working with water pearls to make easy but fun centrepieces for your wedding or pre-wedding parties!
Water pearls are small rubbery balls that expand with water. They come in a variety of colours and can be found at you local craft store or at a local wedding gift/craft shop like
In Casa Gifts. There very easy to work with, you simply place them in a container filled with water and allow time for them to expand to a larger size. You can let them expand all the way to a very large pearl or keep an eye on them until they reach the desired size. You want to keep them moist especially if you are planning on making your centrepieces in advanced.
Today we will look at 3 types of centrepiece ideas. One for a fun and funky wedding, another for an elegant affair, and the last for a more simple wedding or event.
Fun and Funky:

What you will need:
- A plate charger and plate. Choose the colours of your choice or wedding/event theme. Or choose a neutral colour
- 4 tea light candles (or more/less depending on your style)
- Flowered jewels of various sizes, shapes, and colours. These can be found at your local craft store.

Once you have what you need is as simple as figuring out the placement of your objects. I chose to use the small and medium flowers to frame along the plate charger. Then I added the tea lights on top of the plate, filled in the plate with black water pearls, and topped it with my larger and medium sized flowered jewels. You can arrange these items any way you like to get the feel and style that you prefer. I chose to use a gold and silver plate charger and plate with multi-coloured jewels to make the metallic pop.
Simple Elegance:

What you will need:
- Large shallow fruit bowl
- One large faux flower. Can be any flower you like but make sure it’s over sized (you can also use a few flowers instead, or even the paper chrysanthemums we made last week)
- A jewelled brooch. It really doesn’t matter what brooch you choose my suggestion is to buy an inexpensive one if you are planning to give your centrepieces away.

Again, now it is simply about arranging your items. I like the idea of such a large bowl with just a flower and water pearls and some bling to top it off. I chose a large pink daisy. I filled the bowl with my water pearls, placed the daisy in the centre and then added my lizard brooch on top. Above I have shown to ways you can place your brooch that work well with the fact that it’s a lizard. You could also use a smaller brooch that could sit right in the middle and be the centre of your flower. What’s great is there are so many ways you can arrange this centrepiece to make it fit your style and the style of your event. It makes a big statement and it’s so simple to make.
Simple ideas:

A great and simple way to use your water pearls is by just adding them to a clear vase and arranging fresh or faux flowers inside. You can use twigs, feathers, or anything else you would like to stand up right. Also a candle in the middle would work just as well.
Water pearls allow creativity and uniqueness for beautiful centrepieces without taking much time to make and arrange them. So have fun and get creative!
Be sure to show us your centrepiece ideas or photos that you have made with water pearls!

Thank Goodness It’s Friday! Aren’t you happy to read that! A Happy Inspiration Friday to you… hope you have or will be inspired by something that crosses your path this Friday!
It’s snowing here in Toronto today… so it got me thinking about soft fluffy snow. The morning after it snows when the sun rises with that pinkie orange glow. A glow that hovers over the pure whiteness of untouched snow. It’s a beautiful thought, very soft, the cold milky white touched by the warm glow of the sun. Well that was my inspiration for today’s blog.
The idea of soft snow is a great inspiration for a winter wedding. You can mix many different shades, hues, and tints of white, with a blend of pastel/light pinks and orange.
Here’s our take on a
Soft Snow Wedding.

Little cupcake liner roses or chrysanthemums depending on how you look at it are a lovely way to add a pretty accent to your wedding. Wrap them around your program or favour boxes, Make a single flower in to a place card, make a flower wreath for your flower girl… the list can go on and on and on.

So let’s get right to it and help you make one of these cupcake liner flowers. We would love to see
what you do or intend to do with them so be sure to comment with your ideas below or send us a photo at
renee@thebeginningofforever.ca and we will feature them on a future DIY Wednesday.
What you will need:
- Cupcake liners (assorted in colours would be great)
- A push pin or thin bobby pin and a needle threader
- Ribbon/thin rope or pipe cleaners
Step 1:

Separate 8 cupcake liners. If you got the assorted colour pack they are (usually) already separated in 8 per colour.
Step 2:

Flatten each liner and restack.
Step 3:

Poke whole in centre of all 8 liners using a bobby pin or a push pin.
Step 4:
Thread your ribbon through one whole and back out the second. Tie the string together in a knot. If you are using a pipe cleaner poke the pipe cleaner through one whole bend and poke through second whole. Wrap pipe cleaner around itself on other side.
Step 5:

Once you have secured the ribbon/rope or pipe cleaner take one layer of the liners and pinch together at the bottom centre of the liner. Repeat this until all 8 are pinched around each other to create a flower.
VOILA!

You are all finished.. if you have it on a ribbon you can add as many more as the ribbon will hold. And if using pipe cleaner keep going until you have enough!
These are such a great way to add a pop of colour through out your wedding ceremony and reception. They are also great for all the parties before and after your wedding. If you add them to each event it sets the tone of continuity to your guest. Also because they are paper you can keep them for quite a while so remember to collect all the ones left behind and re-use them at home for some awesome home decor umph!

Happy Bridal Gown Monday! And a happy start to the new week. We have been catching up on what’s in for 2012 weddings and the wonderful Tracey Manailescu, Vice President and Co-Founder of the
