Weather Changes Plans but Not the Celebration at Dearborn Wedding 2012-05-22

Congratulations to Benjamin and Jennifer on their wedding at the Dearborn Inn.  The ceremony was originally intended to be outside at the gazebo but cold, wet weather changed the plans to an inside wedding.   The change did not dissuade any of the guests from celebrating though and everyone enjoyed the beautiful setting that was quickly assembled by Robert George, coordinator at Dearborn Inn and his efficient staff.  Miriam Jerris officiated the ceremony which included a reading of William Shakespeare Sonnet 116.  We played Spring from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Air by Bach, Serenade by Haydn and the beautiful Pachelbel Canon for the wedding processional.  Jennifer and Benjamin were delightful to work with from the very beginning of our conversations.  They had a clear understanding of the focus for the day and didn’t allow the small changes to steal their joy.  We wish them both the very best as they begin their married life together.

A Perfect Day for Outdoor Wedding at Orchard Lake Country club 2012-05-22

Congratulations to Amanda and Bennett on their wedding this past weekend beside the lake at the Orchard Lake Country Club.  As you can tell from the picture, the setting was beautiful and the weather, quite honestly, was perfect!  At the couple’s request, we played the music of Debussy, Handel, and the famous Pachelbel Canon for Amanda’s bridal processional.  Amanda’s gown deserves a special note here.  It had a romantic, antique quality to it while still being contemporary.  Diane Fillion was a great help as wedding coordinator with cues and Reverend Suzanne Paul directed a lovely ceremony that included a touch of humor.  The Orchard Lake Country Club is a gorgeous location for a wedding and the staff is always helpful and courteous.  We wish Bennett and Amanda the very best as they begin married life together.

“Today I Will Marry My Friend” – A Romantic Wedding at St. James Lutheran 2012-04-21

Congratulations to Rachel and Daniel who were married this weekend at St. James Lutheran Church.  The ceremony was an intimate affair that showcased their faith and friendship as evidenced by their program cover which quoted Song of Solomon 5:10, “This is my beloved, and this is my friend.”  The couple chose elegant classical music with a few unexpected songs that personalized their ceremony including Into the West from Lord of the Rings, River from The Mission, and Seasons of Love from Rent.  The two bridesmaids wore black floor length gowns with a red waist ribbon which matched the beautiful red insert on Rachel’s bridal train.  The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Michael Rothgery and inlcuded a reading from “The Prophet” by Kahlil Gabran and a  Unity Sand Pouring for which we played the Irish tune “Give Me Your Hand”.  We send Daniel and Rachel our best wishes as they deepen their friendship through their wedding vows and married life.

Brother Officiates Sister’s Wedding at All Saints Chapel in Howell 2012-04-09

Congratulations to Melissa and Justin on their wedding at All Saints Chapel in Howell.  The historic Victorian chapel was elegantly decorated with pew bouquets and flowers on the altar, stained glass lancet windows, hard wood floors, and circular staircase in a traditional church setting.  It was a sentimental ceremony highlighted by the Reverend Matthew Mantey, brother of the bride, who flew in from Washington to officiate.  As guests arrived, we played traditional classical pieces that were perfect for the Victorian chapel.  The mothers and grandparents were seated to the popular wedding song, “There is Love” while the maid of honor and bride processed to Canon in D.  As the pictures show, the florist Gudi Stevensen of Petals of Brighton, created unique and elegant arrangements to accent the alter area.   Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Oak Pointe Country Club in Brighton.  We wish Melissa and Justin the very best as they begin life together.
