The Experience:

So, you're getting married?  Here's a little information about how what you can expect, both generally, and particularly with me.  Your quest for a wedding photographer likely begins with the recommendations of the venue at which you select to be married.  These vendors are generally trustworthy and established.  I know it took me a lot of time and a couple of weddings at each of the Temecula wineries and Southern California wedding venues at which I am a preferred vendor.  This also helps to screen out the literally hundreds of amatuers advertising pro wedding services.  Your next step is to search the web and view a few dozen portfolios and wedding photography blogs.  I usually received an email via my website asking about data availability, products, and pricing.  If those fit what the bride / groom have in mind, we set up an no hassle consultation to view my La-Vie custom handmade albums and talk over pricing and expectations.  I book 3 out of every 4 brides I meet with.  The most common reasons couples tell me they selected me for are my honesty in pricing strategy, quality of images, and....  believe it or not, some tell me my Southern Accent was trusting and down to earth in a personal way (I'm a military spouse and moved from Ga with my husband nearly 18 years ago).  For those who book with me, I like to offer a free engagement session, which I call a "Get to know me" session.  This allows us to get comfortable with each other and lets me know if the couple is photogenic and relaxed, or if I will need to do a lot of 'directing' and 'posing' on the day of the wedding.  I always print an 8x10 and mount it in matting, which I bring to the reception for the guests to write some love notes on.  I don't charge for this....  its just my gift to the couple to say thanks for trusting me with their special day.  I love my job!
