Monte Vista Strings and Jazz 2012-01-17

It is always great to meet other wedding vendors, but all too often that is difficult the day of the wedding.  There is so much going on, and each of us has our job to do.  Sometimes there is a break in the activities and an opportunity to meet arises, sometimes not.

At Jana and Jeff’s wedding I had the opportunity to meet Andrew, the Director of Monte Vista Strings and Jazz.  His string quartet provided a delightful evening of music for the reception.  He and the quartet added a classical and elegant atmosphere to the reception.  Unfortunately we did not get to talk for very long, but I was very impressed with his company and services.

Jana and Jeff are Married – San Antonio Wedding Photographer 2011-12-14

Jana and Jeff are the cutest couple.  I had been looking forward to photographing their wedding for months.  They had booked me over the phone back in July, and I could tell from Jana’s enthusiasm that it would be a beautiful event.

With the ceremony held at the Little Church of La Villita the wedding had a distinct charm and downtown San Antonio flair.  It was the perfect location for friends and family to gather and witness Jana and Jeff join together in marriage.  The forecast had been calling for rain all week but somehow I knew the morning of the wedding it would be a great day.  A light drizzle finally did come down during the ceremony, but by the time formal photos were done, the walk to The Hotel Contessa was dry, and the reception got underway.

Maliha and Mike are married 2011-11-30

Small intimate weddings are so much fun and such a treat to photograph.  I always feel a much tighter connection with the couple, and the images seem to be full of emotion and atmosphere.  Such was the case with Maliha and Mike a couple of weekends ago here in San Antonio.  With family in attendance the two celebrated a small ceremony at their home to profess their love and commitment to one another.  It was such a joyful event with all the emotion and fun that one would expect from a close knit family.

Jessica’s Bridal Portraits 2011-11-17

When Jessica drove down from Fort Worth to San Antonio in October for her bridals, I landed a pretty sweet deal with Zaza Gardens.  They were willing to trade location time for some commercial photographs of their venue; I posted some of those back in October.  Jessica was looking for a venue that offered indoor and outdoor settings, and I had recently been turned onto Zaza by a friend.

The venue was the perfect setting for some really great photos, and the ability to shoot indoors was a welcome relief from the TX heat.  Another big thanks to Lea who was gracious enough to allow the use of their facility.  The hardest part of the shoot was not posting these until after the wedding.  Now that Jessica and Carl are off on the honeymoon its time to show off the beautiful bride.

I am pleased to announce the launch of my commercial photography blog at http://wpcommercial.wordpress.com/.  Over the past 9 months I have ventured into the commercial photography genre and determined that I really needed to keep that work separate from my wedding and portrait photography.  In the coming weeks I will be posting photography resulting from my commercial work, and encourage you to visit the page and leave some comments.
