Hello and Congratulations! Now take a deep breath and RELAX. This part of planning your wedding will be fun and stress-free. I have been working with couples for over 13 years, and have always heard afterward how unique and beautiful their ceremonies were. I am also a professional author, so you can be sure that the words that we choose and that I compose will be meaningful, memorable and unique.

“Do you want a ceremony that are reflects your faith tradition, something that’s spiritual but not overly religious, a little of both, something in-between?” This is one of the first questions you will discuss with Reverend Rebecca Nagy when you first meet with her to discuss what she calls, “the most important day of your life.”  Whether a traditional, religious, interfaith or civil ceremony, she wants your ceremony to reflect a personality and style that is uniquely your own.  That’s why the first question is always followed by: “So, how did you all MEET!?”

Graduating from Sancta Sophia Seminary and earning a lifetime ordination through the International Council of Community Churches, Reverend Rebecca A. Nagy left her 20+ year career in the Fashion Industry in 1998 to pursue her inspirational speaking career. It was after speaking at a church one Sunday that she found her real vocation/special niche  when the publisher of a Bridal Magazine approached her to see if she would consider becoming a featured wedding officiant. The rest, as they say, is history!  Today, having performed close to 1800 ceremonies, Rev. Nagy is now considered one of the top wedding officiates in the Southeast.

Her special flair for being able to make each ceremony unique to every couple’s style and relationship is what makes Rev. Rebecca’s ceremonies stand out above the rest.  She has the rare ability to make it seem like she has known the couple for years – even if she has only met with them for a few hours! This ability to connect on a deep level is where the name for her wedding ministry actually came from, as one of her first brides told her, “you spoke from your heart when you did our ceremony – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house – you should call your ministry Weddings From The Heart!”  And so, she took that advice to heart!

“My goal is to make each ceremony meaning and memorable,” says Rev. Rebecca, who also holds the titles of professional speaker and published author, being a member both the National Speaker’s Association and the International Women’s Writer’s Guild - designations which have to be earned. She is also the only officiant who has ever been asked to sit on the board of the National Association of Catering Executives (Charlotte Chapter).

The crafting of your ceremony begins before you meet with Rev. Nagy with a few questions she emails to you to ponder that you will go over when you meet.  Then she will go over other options for the ceremony – do you want a Commemorative Candle? A Unity Candle? Another ritual from your faith or culture? She also has numerous vow and reading ideas to help make the planning of your wedding as stress free as possible! And relax – you don’t have to memorize anything!

Questions include how you met, what you think are important elements in making a good marriage, what were the qualities that drew you to one another, and other questions that will help her make you ceremony not only unique – but all about you.  No cookie cutter ceremonies here! “I think what has surprised me the most over the years has been the anniversary cards that I get from the couples that I have married the year before! They tell me how they have pulled out the copy of their ceremony that I had given them on their anniversary, and cried and/or laughed all over again while eating that frozen bit of wedding cake – and just had to let me know again how appreciative they were.  That’s when I know that I had made some contribution to the start of their lives – and I feel so truly blessed. Wow!”
