Mid American Fitness 2012-03-26

Spring has just officially arrived, but it seems like we've been feeling the warm temps of summer more often than not. Yes, summer is on its way. It's almost time for boat rides, trips to the beach, lounging by the pool, and bikinis.
Oh yeah, about that bikini... If you aren't quite ready to bare it all for the summer season... We know a few people who can help you out!
Mid American Fitness in Farmington Hills is an amazing place to get into gear and get in shape. Whether you're just starting to work out, trying to get back into shape, or you just need to tone up... Mid American offers a variety of classes, programs and personal trainers to help you reach your goals. We love our clients at Mid American. The owner, Karen Blazaitis, has built a warm and welcoming boutique-style fitness facility, where clients can feel comfortable, engaged and good about themselves and their progress. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the variety of classes offered are sure to keep you coming back for more.

From Zumba to yoga, Pilates to core conditioning, spinning to body pump, TRX training to personal training... Mid American has it all.

She said, 'yes'! - Sarah + Kevin's proposal video 2012-03-19

When I first decided to go into broadcast journalism, it was because I love telling stories. In particular, I love the stories about real people that bring out the best emotions that life allows us to feel. Happiness, excitement and joy can all be felt in the very best moments in our lives. To me, the ones that make us feel something are the best stories and the only ones worth telling. I truly feel like the work we do makes people feel the emotions that our clients are feeling and that's really my goal - to make you smile when you click "play". I want you to laugh with excitement, cry tears of joy, smile from ear to ear, and get goosebumps on your arms each and every time you watch our work.

When you see this next couple, I'm pretty confident that you will feel all of that.

Kevin and Sarah are now happily engaged after dating for the last six years. They are graduates of Michigan State University (GO GREEN!) AND Sarah's last name just so happens to be Zara.

Yeah, we love these two.

I went to college with the both of them and hadn't seen them in years, so when I got a call from Kevin, I was thrilled.

He said, "I'm proposing to your sister!" (we have the same last name but we can never figure out if we really are related or not!)

Kevin wanted to surprise Sarah by taking her out on a date to the Detroit Zoo - it was one of their first date spots six years ago when they were students at MSU. With their anniversary approaching, Kevin wanted to get down on one knee, and he wanted to do it in a clever way.

Jason and I had our roles too - we had to act like our run-in was just a coincidence. So we did, pretending that we were at the zoo to try and find couples in love, interviewing them for a promotional video for Zara Creative. Little did Sarah know, the only couple we were there for was her and Kevin.

Here's our video that we made for the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Berry.

We can't wait for your wedding! Kevin, thanks so much for letting us be a part of your special moment. We know you will treat our "sister" like a princess. :)

Heather + Jay's Wedding Trailer 2012-03-13

Oh how we love, love! It's the best thing on Earth, really. And marriage is a celebration of that feeling - announcing to one and all that you have a partner in crime for life, taking on all of life's challenges and celebrating all of the joys that life can bring. Weddings are a milestone for a reason. It's the one day in your life where all of your friends, family, co-workers and favorite people on the planet are all together, surrounding you in celebration of, well, you.
At Zara Creative, we know that we have a pretty special job, because we are given an all-access pass to witness all of the incredible emotion and happiness that takes place throughout the entire day. In the words of my dear friend Lindsay Simms Tamachaski (also in the wedding business - she's an event coordinator at The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township) your wedding day is, "the best day of your life!"

I agree with her. I mean I don't know the feeling for myself just yet, but I've been to enough weddings and talked with enough couples to know just how amazing the day is.

That's one of the reasons why my business partner Jason and I love our jobs. When we cover a wedding, we are there on the happiest day of two people's lives. It's beautiful, inspirational and just plain fun!

We had the pleasure of shooting Heather and Jay's wedding on March 3, 2012 at Mirage in Clinton Township. They were a fairly last minute booking - and we couldn't be happier that they decided to let us be there for their wedding. They are warm, fun and absolutely with out a doubt crazy about each other - and I love the story about how they knew each other before they were a couple.

Heather and Jay graduated from the same high school - but Heather graduated six years after Jay. Heather told me that Jay was THE hottest guy in school and she had a major crush (along with every other girl) on the older man on campus. She even admitted to doodling his name in her notebook along with various combinations of her name next to his last name. Little did she know, she'd end up signing Heather Sommers one day.

Don't you love that?

Heather is a blast and I fell in love with her bubbly personality from the moment we met. She's energetic, fun and cute as can be... so it isn't hard to see why she caught Jay's eye.

Here is the wedding trailer that we put together for the awesome mister and misses. A trailer is a 1-2 minute feature that we produce about a week or two after the wedding. It gives you a feel for what the entire day was like and serves as an early glimpse of the rest of the video highlights to come. Just like movies use trailers to get you excited for the actual release of the film. Same thing.

Heather and Jay, we wish you a lifetime of health, wealth and happiness. Thanks so much for including us in your day.

Enjoy and stay tuned for their Highlight Video!

Calling All Real Estate Professionals 2012-03-02

It seems like the real estate market is starting to pick up here in the Detroit area - and thank goodness for that!

Detroit is back on the rise, so I thought I'd take a moment to dedicate a blog to professionals in the real estate industry and how our video services at Zara Creative could be of good use.

It's no secret that we all use the internet for everything these days - from looking up the nearest Thai restaurant that delivers to finding a new car with just the right monthly payment - we are finding what we need through the world wide web.

The same rings true for real estate. If I'm looking for a new home to buy or even lease, I'm hitting up craigslist, or the real estate websites, or checking through listings that my realtor sends me - and I make my decisions based upon that initial online research.

Want to know what I'm looking for?

A visual.

I want to know what the place looks like! I want to see what color the walls are, I want to get a feel for the floor plan, I want a sense of how big the rooms are, if there are interesting architectural details... I'm looking to see if I can picture myself living there and whether or not I'm going to make the effort to see it in person.

You know what would help?

Ah yes, I know the answer... A virtual tour! Our cinematic videos will highlight the details and architecture of your listings, to give you that edge over your competitors. A virtual tour will give you the chance to showcase brand new construction, breathe new life into updated homes, and uncover hidden gems that are on the market - helping both consumers and real estate pros alike.

We also specialize in professional photography for your listing needs.

If you're interested in making your listings more visual, effective and consumer friendly, email Heather for more information and check us out at zaracreative.com.
